Veteran's Day Parade

Keona is in Daisy Girl Scouts. We went to the VA for the Veteran's Day Parade. She rode on the float with Lucy. Pictures to come.

Halloween 2010

We went to Collegeville Orchards - Keona painted a pumpkin, petted animals in their petting zoo, and got her hand painted with a pumpkin. Pictures will come... I need to get the CD to upload them.

Keona went trick-or-treating with Natalie and her dad on Sunday evening. She came back with a whole bag of candy!

Teacher, Teacher

A new study suggests that the most important factor in how much your kid gets out of preschool is the quality of her relationship with her teacher. Awwww. [Parenting, May 2010]

I wish they had cited which study this was from... but I agree. Keona loves her teacher and is excited for school. I do think teachers make the difference between success and failure. Just look at university classes - if I like the teacher, I will proactively seek them out during their office hours and send them emails. This results in better studying and better grades, right? So, if I do not like the teacher, why would I spend more time than I have to with them??

Reasons You're the World's Best Mom

1. Just look at those gorgeous kids you made. And besides...
2. The necklace says so
3. The mug says so
4. The T-shirt says so
5. The key chain says so
6. The baseball hat says so
7. Your kids say so--when they want something
8. Your husband says so--when he wants you
9. Your mother-in-law doesn't say so, but what does she know?
10. Because we said so

Dinner by Lake George

Lake George is near St. Cloud State's campus, and it was rainy during the day. However, during dinnertime, Keona and I went to the downtown library and Wendy' s for food. Then we went to Lake George to eat and then walked around the lake.

Canada

After the interview and the HRC dinner, I went to drive around. I don't know much about Detroit, but from the building of the interview, Canada was right across the river! So, I eventually crossed the border into Canada. In all these years of living in Minnesota, and going to Ely, I have never crossed the border to the north. It took a trip to Detroit to go cross the border! Here are some pics:

I went into Canada through the tunnel, and left via the bridge.

I went to Detroit Thursday for an interview. Afterwards, I went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. So, here are some pictures of the trip:
